The Director General of the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), Mr. Emmanuel Mkilia with the Director of the Zanzibar Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPCZNZ), Ms. Mercy Abdallah met and held talks with Tanzania Insurance Commissioner Dr. Baghayo Saqware at the Tanzania Insurance Management Authority office on Friday 14/06/2024 in Dodoma.

The leaders discussed the cooperation between the two institutions and how TIRA can improve performance and service delivery more efficiently with stronger protection of personal data.

In addition, Mr. Mkilia is on a visit to meet with various Public and Private Institution Leaders to encourage the implementation of the Personal Data Protection Act, especially the importance of registering in the PDPC system and appointing a Personal Data Protection Officer for each institution to meet the requirements of the Act.

PDPC continues to educate the public about the concept of protection of personal data to Public and Private Institutions through various media outlets.
