Hon. Jerry William SlΓ₯a, Minister for Communication and Information Technology, attended the WSIS+20 High-Level Event in Geneva, Switzerland. He was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Mohammed Khamis Abdullah and Director General of the Personal Data Protection Commission, Dr. Emmanuel Mkilia and other delegates from Tanzania.

During his visit, Hon. SlΓ₯a held a bilateral meeting with ITU Secretary-General Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin, reaffirming Tanzania’s commitment to digital inclusion and expanding access, especially in rural areas.

The Minister emphasized Tanzania’s initiativesβ€”such as Jamii Namba, Jamii Malipo, and Jamii Hubβ€”as models for digital transformation aligned with WSIS goals. Tanzania aims to leverage these projects for broader regional impact.

The delegation’s engagement underscores Tanzania’s dedication to building an inclusive, secure digital future in partnership with global stakeholders.
